Discover the world of seedbombing with the Seedbombs for Butterflies Kit - What's inside the Seedbombs Kit -
- Flower seeds - the best of the crop for attracting those beautiful butterflies
- Compost and clay powder - two main ingredients essential for your seedbomb recipe
- Water bottle sprinkler - for attaching to any ordinary drinking bottle and watering your seedbomb mix
- Seed collection envelopes - for when you venture out to harvest more seeds
- Lollipop sticks and a pencil - for labelling your newly created seedbombs
Once made you simply launch your seed bomb anywhere in the garden usually inaccessible places where you wouldn't usually be able to get to plant seeds.
The idea of the 'bomb' is that the seeds will have more to time to grow as most seeds are light and there is a risk of them being blow away by the wind.
The seedbomb usually takes around 3 weeks for the first seedlings to work their way through the ground. There is a sense of unpredictablity with seedbombing. Its random nature is what attracts people, the magic of waiting to see if this strange little ball will grow... if it actually works.
Seedbombs for Butterflies include seeds that will provide a source of food plants right through the season from when butterflies come out of hibernation in Spring, thorugh to Autumn when they need to build up their energy reserves for Winter. Plants will include Foxglove, Red Campion, Ox-Eye Daisy and Corn Cockle.
The kit is beautifully packaged and also includes a comprehensive, beautifully illustrated booklet explaining everything you need to know about creating, planting and what to expect from seedbombs. -----------------------------------------------------------
