Winter Spiced Pear Cocktail Recipe
There's nothing more refreshing than a gin and tonic to help you cool off on a baking hot Summer's day! But with Winter drawing in, you can still enjoy your favourite beverage, since it takes wonderfully to Winter spices! We hope you enjoy this heart-warming cocktail to help you curl up with during those dark winter nights.
This is a light but warming cocktail using spices of star anise and cinnamon. The silky texture you get from the egg white makes it a luxurious drink.
You'll need...
50ml Gin
25ml Lemon
25ml Pear Syrup
1 x Egg White
For the Pear Syrup you'll need...
4 Pears - cored and cubed
1 Star Anise - plus those you use to decorate
1 Cinnamon - break 1 stick in half
250g Caster Sugar
STEP 1 - Prepare Pear Syrup
Simply put all the ingredients into a pan and add 250ml water - simmer for 20-30 minutes until all the flavours have infused. Put to one side to cool.
STEP 2 - Make the Cocktail
Put all of ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously. Once shaken, fill with ice and shake again. Strain into a chilled coupe and place a star anise on the foam to serve.
