Easy to Make Summer Cocktails
Here at Smart Gift, we’re delighted to put together a collection of three beautifully simple, delicious cocktail recipes for you to enjoy throughout the summer months. During the Christmas season, we revel in the aromatic spices of ginger and cinnamon, with the flavours of mulled wine warming our senses. Yet, as we approach the thrills of Summer sunshine and late nights (or we hope with British weather…), we crave the fruity, light and crisp zests of some exciting new beverages!
So, here are a few recipes that require little preparation but will bring lots of enjoyment and are great to share with friends and family this year!
Raspberry Champagne Poppers Cocktail Recipe
Everybody loves a glass of Champagne, right? It’s the perfect celebratory drink for all year round. So, here’s an easy recipe to add a fruity, flirty touch for the Spring and Summer season without needing much mixing experience…
Place 3-4 frozen, sugar coated raspberries into a flute (although this style of glassware isn’t necessary, it does look prettier!) and pour 125ml of a Champagne of your choice. Then, add 25ml of either alcoholic or non-alcoholic raspberry grenadine, depending on your preference. The bright colour of the grenadine will beautifully drizzle between the raspberries, creating a burst of colour infusion. It’s a very simple, but desirable cocktail and will impress your guests at a summer party for friends and family.
Blue Lagoon Cocktail Recipe
If you’re unable to travel to a sparkling paradise across the globe this summer, and are dreaming of sandy beaches with crystal clear waters… dream no further! Here is a fantastic drink that brings an idyllic blue lagoon to you. A simple recipe that looks awesome, it’s bound to be your go-to summer drink this season. The crazy, intense colour will impress your guests for sure.
Fill a highball glass of your choice to the brim with ice cubes, and add one 25ml shot of Vodka (whichever brand you fancy, we recommend Absolut or Smirnoff for a clean, fresh taste) and add another 25ml shot of Blue Curacao. Top up with lemonade and add a slice of lime for a citrus edge or a cherry for a colour burst, and voila you have your very own beachy heaven in a cup!
Gin and Lemon Cocktail Recipe
Another definitive taste of Summer is gin, with its sharp but refreshing kick – it’s simply a must-have cocktail base over the summertime period. Traditionally in the UK, we tend to head for the tonic, lime and cucumber combination. Although this is definitely a classic that can’t be faulted, there’s always room to try something new… We thought we’d give you an idea for adding a delicious twist – the Italian liqueur Limoncello!
In a tumbler glass of your choice, fill to the brim with ice and add 25ml of a gin of your choice – although we recommend Bombay Sapphire for its lighter, more delicate flavours than other
known brands such as Tom Collins or Hendricks. Then, add another 25ml shot of Limoncello – readily available at most supermarket stores. A premium, Italian-sourced brand is recom-mended for original flavour, such as Pallini or Luxardo. A stick of thyme and lemon twist for the finishing touches will add an aromatic but fresh finish to this tasty cocktail. For those who aren’t acquired to the taste of gin, the touch of fruit and herbs will be sure to change their mind.
